TB-500 is a synthetic seven-residue peptide, Ac-Leu-Lys-Lys-Thr-Glu-Thr-Gln, corresponding to residues 17 to 23 of thymosin beta-4. This segment carries the actin-binding motif of the parent protein and reproduces much of its activity in cell-based research at a fraction of the molecular weight.
Research Applications
Laboratory research with TB-500 focuses on G-actin sequestration and cytoskeletal dynamics, cell migration and wound-closure assays, angiogenesis and endothelial cell models, and comparative studies against full-length thymosin beta-4.
